サボテンレザーは、フタル酸エステルやPVCなど有機化学部質を一切使用せずに動物由来ではなくメキシコに大量に存在するノパルサボテンから作られています。
原材料となるノパルサボテンはメキシコ全土に在存し成長に水をほとんど必要としないため、水の消費量を抑えることが出来ます。また、同量の本皮に比べると、生産過程での二酸化炭素の排出量は、80%削減することができる環境に優しい製品です。
サボテンの収穫後は、オーブンや人工的なエネルギーを使用せずに日光の下で3〜4日間乾燥させます。その後、粉末状にしたサボテンを特許技術によって加工していきヴィーガンレザーにしていきます。これらの加工プロセスでも殺虫剤や除草剤は一切使用せず、オーガニック認証を受けている100%オーガニックな製品です。
